Koh Samui is a province of Suratthani and is often referred to just as Samui. Samui is situated off the east coast of the main land and is found in the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Samui has a population of over 50,000 and is now recognized as the third largest island in Thailand. Samui is often referred to as being like paradise due to its tropical weather, golden beaches, turquoise seas and jungle terrain. In the center of Koh Samui there is a mountain called Khao Pom. With the many waterfalls the mountain produces and the jungle environment, Khao Pom offers a unique experience for tourists to visit. Encircling the mountain are the islands award winning, golden beaches which offer the perfect setting for family days out, full of adventure. The island essentially has two seasons; the hot season which stretches for the majority of the year and the rainy season during November & December. Even in the rainy season, the weather is warm and tourists are still able to venture to the beach.
For years Samuis economy has been based around the natural resources the island has to offer. Whether it is from fishing or from the sale of coconuts, the land has always provided for the locals that reside here. Nowadays the land is being used for tourism which has become the islands major industry. Many properties have been built, and infrastructures improved, to cater for the ever growing number of tourists that visit the island. Koh Samuis economy has in turn grown tenfold and many entrepreneurs are investing heavily in real estate which offer high income returns.
Do to the ever growing population of the tourist industry, Samui offers great potential for those who buy here. Whether they invest in real estate, or offer services such as diving or day trips, the tourist industry can produce large financial reward.
