Combining the latest in eco-design with iconic modern architecture by GFAB, Aqualina presents a new approach to exclusive tropical living. The hillside development comprises of 18 exclusive villas with innovative design in harmony with the natural environment. Sun, heat, light, air and water are all elements that are considered in the design to ensure high energy efficiency, low maintenance and a healthier lifestyle. The development is set on the northern coast Koh Samui and commands a panoramic outlook over the sea and the neighbouring island of Koh Phangan, within easy access to the beach, local restaurants, shops and an 18-hole golf course.
Defined by the bold angle of their pitched roofs, Auqualina villas have a futuristic design with clean lines and boundaries between interiors and exteriors seamlessly merged. The villas’ roofs are planted with grass which creates a thermal mass that aids the cooling of the spaces beneath it. Similarly, the reflecting pools help draw air through the building, creating cooling breezes. Natural light is also maximized, while there is natural shading from trees.
Three types of villas with two to three bedrooms and private swimming pool are available. All types of villas have a shallow L-shaped design, maid’s quarters with bathroom and ample parking space available. The outside of the villa is planted with flowering shrubs, palms and lawns.
The two bedroom villa has a ground floor plan that gives both the dining and living areas, as well as the main en-suite bedroom, direct views to the pool. To the rear of the dining room is a countertop with fitted kitchen behind. In the corer a shallow-rise spiral staircase leads to the upper level with a second double bedroom en-suite and a gallery overlooking the living area below.
The Type A three bedroom villa has a unique organization that allows the integration of the extended swimming pool into the building. The accommodation is spread over three levels with the ground floor offering living and dining areas, kitchen and a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom that looks out to the pool. Open stairs lead to the upper storey where there is a second double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The third bedroom is located on the lower level, again is complete with en suite facilities.
The Type B three bedroom villa is more deeply L-shape designed with the pool further into the property. Two double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, are next to each other along on side of the ground floor. The upper storey comprises of a third double bedroom, also with en-suite facilities, and a gallery that overlooks the dining and living areas.
Pricing includes all built in furniture, air conditioning units and full Teka kitchen.
